Learning Societies Conference III
UNESCO has been in dialogue with a multicultural network of “Learning Communities” as part of its commitment to humanizing globalization.
The Learning Societies Conference III is a ‘learning space’ for exchange, involving a number of individuals and groups from Latin America and the Caribbean who have turned toward a ‘search’ for new meaning in their lives, reclaiming control over their own learning process.

The Conference consisted of 5 workshops:
  • Cultural Regeneration
  • Learning Processes in Indigenous Communities
  • Diversity of learning styles
  • Unlearning
  • Walk-outs

At World Social Forum fifth edition, all the proposed activities were organised in 11 "thematic terrains". This activity was part of the Assuring and defending Earth and people’s common goods – as alternative to commodification and transnational control & Defending diversity, plurality and identities thematic terrains.

    Partners:
Ellerni-Learning Community (Brazil), Unitierra (México), Shikshantar, Udaipur, Abhivyakti and Nashik, (India).

    Date: 27, 29 and 30 January.
