Bio Professor of Constitutional Law and Human Rights at the Faculty of Law, Pontificial University, Sao Paolo. Professor Piovesan is equally the Attorney General of Sao Paolo since 1991, and Member of the Federal Council for the Protection of the Rights of the Person, Brazil. She has been a consultant in human rights for the Ford and Heinrich Boll Foundations and the European Human Rights Foundation. Her research interests focus on the issues of violence and social rights
