The country is covered by the UNESCO Office in Rabat, Morocco.

 

Libya is engaged with UNESCO in a multi-dimensional project on earthquake monitoring and research studies entitled Establishment of the National Seismological Network (LNSN).

The LNSN is a UNESCO-Libyan project which aims essentially at building capacity in earthquake monitoring and research, and at establishing a National Digital Seismological Network and a Strong Motion Network in order to conduct studies of earthquake-related phenomena towards risk assessment and reduction in the region.
