When folk medical experiences derived from the same plant are collated comparatively, the real medical effects associated with plant bioactivity will emerge.
The search for bioactive components from plants as a source of lead compounds in drug development, is a major endeavor in phytochemical research. This book is aimed at assisting phytochemists to identify the plant species which most likely contain bioactive components of interest and which may warrent further investigations. This second volume in the series continues to cover the results of the 'international collaboration project' launched by the Regional Network for the Chemistry of National Products in Southeast Asia in collaboration with UNESCO.
