    The Basic and Engineering Sciences Division works closely with the Science and Technology Education Section in the Education Sector to identify and initiate new cooperative projects.

    In the spirit of the 1999 World Science Conference, which called for UNESCO to strengthen its activities in the field of science and technology education, the two Sectors of Education and Science are developing an intersectoral programme of action.
