The Asian Science Seminar on Synchrotron Radiation Science will be hosed by Al-Balqa' Applied University, Jordan, 19-28 October 2002
Seven weeks after it was created under the auspices of UNESCO, the Synchrotron Light for Experimental Science and Applications in the Middle East (SESAME) is planning an autumn seminar. The Japan Society for the Promotion of Science and the High Energy Accelerator Research Organization (KEK) are co-organizing an Asian Science Seminar on Synchrotron Radiation Science with Al-Balqa' Applied University in Jordan, the future site of SESAME. Professor Shin-ichi Kurokawa, who is General Head of Divisions at KEK in Tsukuba (Japan), explained to SESAME's International Interim Council on Tuesday that the seminar would show users the extraordinary potential for synchrotron science at SESAME. It would also be an opportunity for scientists from Asia and the Middle East to meet. The seminar is being hosted by Al-Balqa' Applied University on 19-28 October 2002.
