Pacific island approaches to integrated coastal conservation and sustainable human development

The meeting aims to:

  1. Assist Pacific Island UNESCO Member States in implementing recommendations of the 3rd World Conference on Biosphere Reserves, held in Madrid, Spain 4-9 February 2008;
  2. Support and strengthen national strategies for biodiversity protection in biosphere reserves and similarly managed areas in the Pacific;
  3. Strengthen the PACMAB network through technology transfer and capacity building;
