Malta is engaged in the AVICENNA project, dedicated to accelerating the adoption and best use of ICT-assisted Open Distance Learning in 11 Mediterranean non-European Union (EU) Member States with assistance from UNESCO and the EU. The project aims at establishing adequate local infrastructures and transferring best practice and professional know-how within target universities.
