Education for a Culture of Peace and Human Rights

Overview

UNESCO is the lead agency for the United Nations International Decade for a Culture of Peace and Non-Violence for Children of the World from 2001 to 2010. One of its mandates is to build the defenses of peace in the minds of people. To achieve this goal, UNESCO aims to create a comprehensive system of education for human rights, democracy and culture of peace.
