Regional policy programmes for the teaching profession

The purpose of this initiative, led by the UNESCO Regional Bureau for Education in Latin America and the Caribbean, is to help the various countries address the teacher issue from a comprehensive, intersectoral and long-term perspective.

It is intended to build national educational policy-making capacities with a view to placing the teaching profession as a public policy priority and, in so doing, promote alliances and establish co-responsibilities that may form teachers who guarantee the right of all to quality education.

The programme is structured around four components which are simultaneously implemented in the Latin American and Caribbean region.
