More than 100 educational documents for tsunami preparedness are available online for public use through the DIPECHO project coordinated by UNESCO. The virtual library "Educational Materials for Tsunami Preparedness" was built with the framework of the cooperation agreement between the Regional Disaster Information Center (CRID) and projects relating to this issue and implemented by UNESCO, which received financial support from the Program Disaster Preparedness Directorate General for Humanitarian Aid of the European Commission (DIPECHO).

This collection of documents intended to promote the dissemination and use of educational materials in Spanish that have been produced by ministries of education, national offices of risk management, oceanographic institutes, seismic services, universities, UN agencies and NGOs to help with tsunami risk reduction with both formal and informal education.

Materials are organized with specific consideration for target audiences, teachers and students; but can also be used by the wider community. Within this section there is an evidence base of reference and audiovisual materials that can be used in training and awareness workshops against the dangers of tsunamis.
"These materials are useful tools for daily activities and drive the ministries of education, national office risk management and NGOs working on disaster risk reduction and stimulus to promote educational projects" said Giovana Santillan, coordinator DIPECHO VII Project from OREALC / UNESCO Santiago.

Among the publications in this literature base, we recommend consulting the texts from the education ministries of Chile, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru which have been developed to implement risk reduction actions in coastal educational institutions of their respective countries. This space is in constant construction, so that UNESCO will be receiving new materials to incorporate and disseminate in the portal.
Este espacio estará en constante construcción, por lo que la UNESCO estará recibiendo nuevos materiales a fin de incorporarlos y difundirlos en el portal.
