The event’s central topic will be Educational Systems for School Effectiveness and Improvement: Exploring the Alternatives. Five hundred education policy builders, school efficiency and improvement strategy specialists, school leaders, principals, and researchers are expected to attend, sharing an interest in contributing to this knowledge environment and sharing their experiences. The programme will include the participation of keynote speakers from around the world, as well as an additional 200 presentations or so, a symposium and poster sessions.
Atilio Pizarro, Section Chief for Planning, Management, Monitoring, and Evaluation at OREALC/UNESCO Santiago, has said that “From the Latin American Laboratory for Assessment of the Quality of Education (LLECE), we are working towards a joint participation in this conference alongside UNICEF, as this event is not only a unique opportunity for the exchange and generation of networks, but also a chance to disseminate the technical knowledge generated through actions taken jointly by these two institutions, on barriers and divides that arise from the characteristics of the student that can stand in the way of educational achievement”.
The congress will be supported by the Chilean Ministry of Education, OREALC/UNESCO Santiago, Fundación Minera Escondida, and El Mercurio.
