UNESCO-ISS Round Table – Towards Inclusive Society: Urban Policies and Practices

From 01-10-2009 to 01-10-2009 (India) 

Organised in cooperation with the Institute of Social Sciences and UNESCO Chair on Social and Spatial Inclusion of Migrants - Urban Policies and Practices, the roundtable aims at identifying feasible steps to incorporate UN Social Inclusion parameters, criteria and principles into urban planning processes and policies. Four thematic sessions will structure the debate:

  • Urban Policies & Practices in Social & Spatial Inclusion of Migrants

  • UN-HABITAT Asian study on Safety and Urban Poverty - a Framework for Urban Safety in India

  • National Dialogue on UNESCO Coalition of Municipalities against Discrimination: Municipal Policies and Practices to Strengthen Vulnerable Groups

  • UNESCO Project for the Establishment of an International Research Centre on Inclusive Cities (Porto Alegre,Brazil)
