Organisation des Nations Unies pour l'éducation, la science et la culture Organisation des Nations Unies pour l'éducation, la science et la cultureAs the follow up to the last training and cluster meeting that took place in Curaçao, Netherlands Antilles in July 2007, a similar 3-day training workshop for the National Commissions of 17 Member States and Associate Members in the Caribbean Sub-Region has been held from 1 to 3 July 2009 in Roseau, Dominica.
The aim of this workshop was to provide training opportunities to Secretaries-General of the Caribbean National Commissions for UNESCO and discuss prepartions for the 35th session of the General Conference to be held in October 2009 in Paris.
Issues addressed, included UNESCO and UN reforms, National Commissions’ role in this process, consideration and adoption of UNESCO’s Draft Programme and Budget for 2010-2011 (35 C/5), common and coordinated actions to be taken at 35th General Conference.
