Sustainable production and consumption: extract from the Mauritius Strategy - Chapter XV, para 73

73. In response to the call in the Johannesburg Plan of Implementation for the development of a 10-year framework of progress in support of regional and national initiatives on sustainable consumption and production, small island developing States are committed, with the necessary support of the international community, to: (a) Considering all initiatives relating to sustainable consumption and production in the context of the economic, social and environmental dimensions of sustainable development; (b) Taking appropriate measures to facilitate the implementation of the 10-year framework on sustainable production and consumption in a coherent manner; (c) Assessing the need for programmes on sustainable consumption and production strategies on the basis of national priorities and best practices.
