01-01-1999 12:00 am This monograph was published as part of the activities of the Strategic Plan for Partnership for Development 1997 - 2001 of the Inter-American Council for Integral Development.
It defines the underlying concept of sustainability and identifies what action is needed to implement this concept effectively in programmes of environmental education for sustainable development. This study should contribute to reshaping education programmes in this region, to accommodate a wide range of cultures and ecosystems.
