UNESCO salutes the rebirth of Afghan cinema Este elemento no está disponible en Español.Está disponible actualmente en Inglés, Francés. 18-06-2003 - Koïchiro Matsuura held talks with the Afghan film director Sedigg Barmak on his efforts in favour of the Afghan Children Education Movement (ACEM), which he directs, as well as his work as Director of the Agency for Afghan Cinema. Also present were the Grand Duchess Maria Teresa of Luxembourg and Claudia Cardinale, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador.

They then attended the preview screening of the film Osama in the presence of numerous personalities including the Afghan Minister for Information and Culture, Raheen Makhdoum and H.R.H. Prince Mirwais Zahir.

On the same occasion the Director-General presented the Afghan director with UNESCO’s Fellini Medal.
