  • Participation of Marianna Vardinoyannis in UNESCO Activities
  • Mrs Marianna Vardinnoyannis was appointed UNESCO Goodwill Ambassadors on the 21 of October 1999 at UNESCO Headquarters

  • She co-operates with UNESCO in several projects such as:

  • "Bethlehem 2000". She donated the creation of the Early Childhood Resource and Training Center in Bethlehem in the framework of the Educational Village created by UNESCO

  • Mrs Marianna Vardinnoyannis supports the project for the creation of the Museum of Nativity in Nazareth

  • She participated in the Film "Children of Peace" (production of UNESCO) by giving a special message for Peace

  • "Paedophilia on the Internet", She attented the Meeting of Experts on child Abuse, Child Pornography and Paedophilia on the Internet which took place on the 18-19 January 1999 at UNESCO Headquarters

  • Mrs Marianna Vardinnoyannis organised the European Conference "Sexual Abuse of Children and Paedophilia on the Internet" in Athens on the 2-3 of December 1999

  • She supports the Project of the UNESCO's World Citizens' Movement to Project Innocence in Danger which will support the action of the World Movement to Protect Innocence in Danger which will support the action of the World Mevement

  • "Children in Peace": Mrs Marianna Vardinnoyannis organised the meeting of Athens and Delphi on "Children in Peace" on the 1st and 2nd of June 2000. This conference was held under the auspices of UNESCO in the context of 2000 as the International Year for the Culture of Peace. Through the Conference she launched the "Declaration of Delphi on Children and Peace" which was created with the contribution of international personalities in the fields of Peace

  • "Lycistrada 2000": In the framework of 2000 as the International Year for Culture and Peace, she promotes the creation of the Film of Lycistrada, based on the work of Aristophanes, which is the first anti-war statement in history

  • She attended the Annual meeting of Goodwill Ambassadors on July 2000, on February 2002 and on February 2003 at UNESCO Headquarters
  • H.R.H. Princess Firyal of Jordan, Ms Marianna Vardinoyannis and Wole Soyinka, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassadors, were nominated as Patrons for the World Heritage International Congress 2002: “Shared Legacy and Common Resposibility” marking the 30th anniversary of the adoption of the World Heritage Convention. The congress took place on 14 November 2002 at the Giorgio Cini Foundation on the Island of San Giorgio Maggiore in Venice, Italy

  • Inauguration of the exhibition "Breaking the Veils: Women Artists from the Islamic World", under the patronage of Her Majesty Queen Rania Al-Abdullah of Jordan and Mrs Marianna V. Vardinoyannis, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador, on 11 March 2003 at UNESCO Headquarters

  • Inauguration of the exhibition "The Unity of a Monument Parthenon", on 4 April 2003 at UNESCO Headquarters
