Her Royal Highness Grand Duchess Maria Teresa of Luxembourg was appointed Goodwill Ambassador on 10 June 1997
H.R.H. participated in round tables at the Headquarters on micro credit and on fashion shows organized for woman weavers from Bangladesh, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Latin America, and Africa (1996-1999)
H.R.H. visited several UNESCO projects in the field in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Nepal, and Bangladesh
H.R.H. attended the celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of the Human Rights on 7 December 1998, followed by the inauguration of Gervasio Sanchez's photo exhibition focusing on the mine victims, "Vidas Minadas"
H.R.H. attended the colloquium against the spread of pedophilia on the Internet, which took place at the UNESCO Headquarters in 1999
H.R.H. participated in the inauguration of the International Day of Peace in March 1999 at UNESCO Headquarters
H.R.H. participated in the inauguration of the "Manifesto for Peace" in September 1999 at UNESCO Headquarters

H.R.H. participated in the inauguration of the exhibition "Breaking the Veils: Women Artists from the Islamic World", under the patronage of Her Majesty Queen Rania Al-Abdullah of Jordan and Mrs Marianna V. Vardinoyannis, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador, on 11 March 2003 at UNESCO Headquarters
As Honorary President, H.R.H. gave a speech at the event to commemorate the struggle of the African continent against HIV/AIDS, which took place at UNESCO Headquarters in November 2004. |
