  • Held concert tours in the Russian Federation for consecutive years benefiting UNESCO's programme for the Chernobyl victims

  • Gave a recital during the gala evening of 2 October 1994 at the Opera of Lyon, benefiting the community centres for psychological rehabilitation that UNESCO established for the Chernobyl victims in Russia, Belarus and Ukraine. On this occasion, a CD was issued and the proceeds from sales were allocated to this programme

  • Concert in Buenos Aires on 2 December 1998 for the 50th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights

  • Concert tours in 1998 in Argentina, Bolivia, Belgium, France, Italy and Norway and later in Burundi in June 1999 for the programme from the UNESCO Culture Sector "Music and Peace"

  • One of the speakers during the launching of the "Call for artistic education in schools" together with mstislav Rostropovitch at the Headquarters on 3 November 1999

  • Played a musical interlude during the awarding of "UNESCO Prize for Education for Peace 1999" at the Headquarters on 13 December 1999

  • Miguel Angel Estrella and about 40 Arab and Israeli musicians, members of the Orchestra for peace played on September 11, at UNESCO Headquarters

  • Attented the Annual meeting of Goodwill Ambassadors on February 2002 and on February 2003 at UNESCO Headquarters
