| Participation of Pierre Cardin in UNESCO Activities |
Designed "Never Again! Priority Environment" collection of jewellery, medals, badges and sculptures that were sold to benefit a programme dedicated to the Chernobyl victims on the occasion 5th anniversary of Chernobyl catastrophe on 26 April 1991. All the distribution rights were transferred to UNESCO
When he was awarded the Order of Treasury of the Sacred Golden and Silver Star by the Japanese Government, he appealed that a donation should be made to the Chernobyl victims
Helped UNESCO's World Foundation for AIDS Research and Prevention programme
Attended Goodwill Ambassadors meetings at the Headquarters on 3 May 1993, and 14-15 December 1994
Lead "The Six Flags of Tolerance" project which were distributed to the 185 member states and raised them in several countries in 1995
Attended UNESCO's 50th anniversary celebration on 16 November 1995
