Combatting child poverty and social exclusion

Paris – The British Secretary to the Treasury and Cabinet Minister, Paul Boateng, will be the guest speaker at a seminar on child poverty and exclusion, to be held at UNESCO on January 31 (3.30 p.m. to 5.30 p.m.).

Mr Boateng, who has special responsibilities involving children at risk as part of his role as a finance minister, will present an overview of efforts being undertaken in the United Kingdom to combat child poverty and exclusion.

A number of French education and child experts have also been invited to the seminar, including Mme Anne-Aymone Giscard d’Estaing, the president of the French Fondation pour l’Enfance.
