The state Commissioner of Science and Technology, Alhaji Lawan Danzoma, told newsmen in Dutse that additional 15 computers were purchased for the state computer centres in Ringim, Kazaure and Hadejia.
He said about 1,000 students are expected to be enrolled in the centres for training in computer knowledge, adding that the state government has finished arrangement to build additional laboratories, lecture rooms and student hostels in the institute early next year.
Alhaji Danzoma maintained that the state government intends to prioritise the study of computer science in both its primary and post-primary institutions to build foundation for the growth and development of computer knowledge in the state.
He revealed that arrangement is in the pipeline to provide schools with the facilities to hasten the planned computer-for-all knowledge in the state.
Already, certain categories of civil servants in the state have been undergoing training to assist in the enhancement productivity for the development of the state.
Accordingly, he added, individuals and organisations would soon be allowed to utilise facilities in various locations in the state to foster their educational and organisational growth through the use of computers provided by the state government.
