The eminent Italian economist and businessman Giancarlo Elia Valori holds prestigious academic distinctions and national orders. Mr Valori has lectured on international affairs and economics at the world’s leading universities.
Giancarlo Elia Valori was designated Goodwill Ambassador in 2001. Keenly interested in art and culture, Mr Valori founded the Emilia Valori Fund for the Preservation of Traditions, which finances UNESCO’s efforts to collect and preserve traditional and ethnic songs and poetry. In recognition of his important contribution to the promotion of cultural values, Mr Valori was awarded the UNESCO Picasso Medal in 1998.
