Millennium Development Goals
UNESCO contributes fully to implementing the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) through its Medium-Term Strategy 2002-2007 (31 C/4 Approved).

This handbook provides guidance on the definitions, rationale, concepts and sources of data for each of the indicators that are used to monitor the MDG targets. It expands on an earlier exercise to provide the metadata for the socio-economic indicators that make up the UN Common Country Assessment Indicator Framework. More

The Millennium Project has made a solid start, with its basic infrastructure in place and a first set of outputs delivered by mid-2003. The focus now is shifting to the primary research being commissioned in the build-up to the Interim Task Force Reports, due in December 2003; to the synthesis Interim Project Report, due in June 2004; and to connecting the intellectual efforts and expert networks of the Project to the policy advocacy and analytic work of UN Country Teams.More

The Millennium Challenge Account: A Policy Paper From InterAction - by Nancy A. Aossey and Mary E. McClymont, Chair of the Board President and CEO, InterAction
This paper offers a set of recommended guidelines for the design and implementation of the Millennium Challenge Account for overseas development, announced by President Bush in March 2002. The paper was developed through consultations with our membership. We hope it will serve as an important resource for policymakers as they craft this new initiative.
