Nurturing the democratic debate.  
UNESCO's Assistant Director-General for Social and Human Sciences, Pierre Sané, will receive this prize on behalf of UNESCO on October 4 (7 p.m.) at the closing session of the 2nd World Conference on Bioethics at Gijón's Palacio de Congresos de la Feria Internacional de Muestras de Asturias from the International Society of Bioethics (SIBI).
The Association awards the prize every two years to a person, group or organisation that has produced outstanding work, publications or teaching in the field of bioethics.
