Nurturing the democratic debate.
Journalists and media people from Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, the Palestinian Authority, Tunisia, Syria and Yemen will gather to exchange ideas, experiences and knowledge about the media and democracy in the Arab world.
The seminar, organised by UNESCO/European Union project to encourage independent and pluralistic Arab media, will discuss the crucial role of the media in national processes of democratic decision-making. It aims to make people working in private or state media aware of how they can contribute to democracy and good governance and to increase their skills and knowledge to enable them to do so.
