Body which formulates the general guidelines and recommends appropriate ways for the carrying out of UNESCO Office in Venice's activities. Just published : Meet the members

Having formulated the general guidelines and recommended appropriate ways for the carrying out of UNESCO Office in Venice's activities, the Steering Committee submits to the Director-General of UNESCO, for final approval, UNESCO Office in Venice's annual draft Programme and Budget.

The Steering Committee is composed of two representatives of the Government of Italy, at least one of whom belongs to the scientific community, two representatives of UNESCO, and the Chairperson of the Scientific Council. The Director-General of UNESCO convenes the Ordinary Sessions of the Committee, on the recommendation of the Chairperson of the Committee, at least once a year.

The first ordinary Session (Inaugural) of UNESCO-ROSTE Steering Committee was held on 6 May 1998 at UNESCO HQs, Paris (France). The Committee meets in Extraordinary Session when necessary, convened by the Director-General of UNESCO on the recommendation of the Chairperson or at the request of two of its members.
