Ratification by Malaysia of the Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage (Paris, 17 October 2003)

On 23 July 2013, Malaysia deposited with the Director-General its instrument of ratification of the Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage.

The instrument contained the following declaration:

“Declaration:

The Government of Malaysia declares that the application and implementation of the provision of this Convention shall be subject to, and in accordance with, the applicable domestic laws of Malaysia and the applicable administrative and policy measures of the government of Malaysia.” [Original: English]

In accordance with the terms of its Article 34, the aforementioned Convention will enter into force with respect to Malaysia three months after the date of the deposit of this instrument, that is to say on 23 October 2013.
