Training Seminar for the European and North American National Commissions

2-4 November 2009, Tirana, Albania

The Training Seminar for New Officials of National Commissions of the Europe and North America Region took place in Tirana, Albania, on 2 –4 November 2009.

The Seminar was organized jointly by the Albanian National Commission, the Section of National Commissions for UNESCO (ERC/NAC) and the UNESCO Office in Venice.

The representatives of more than 20 National Commissions, including several Secretaries-General, participated.

Group of Participants

The Seminar addressed a wide range of issues of common interest, such as the status and functions of National Commissions, their role in decentralization, public information and in the coordination of partnerships.

Two experienced Secretaries-General of National Commissions of Slovenia and Switzerland moderated training sessions and shared their experiences with the participants.
