On Thursday 16 April 2009, a Round Table was organized on the theme: “The role of NGOs in the normative process: the example of Culture”. Two sub-themes were examined: ’the role of NGOs in the elaboration and adoption of Conventions’ and ‘the role of NGOs in the implementation of Conventions’.

On Friday 17 April 2009, an Open Forum was organized on ‘UNESCO and NGOs facing a multiple crisis: threat and opportunities”.
