Mother Godess of the West © Annie Wong Leung Kit Wah, 2003.jpg The paintings presented by Dr. Annie Wong Leung Kit-Wah honour the role of Chinese women in the history of this ancient civilisation. In presenting figures of goddesses, heroines, warriors and ordinary Chinese women, the artist illustrates the accomplishments and difficulties that women have faced throughout different periods of China’s history. Her work combines artistic techniques from both Western and Eastern civilisations, and have been displayed across several continents. Her contribution to contemporary art has been recognized worldwide and has earned her many accolades. In addition to her career as a painter, Dr. Annie Wong Leung Kit-Wah demonstrates her commitment to the development of Chinese contemporary art in her role as President of the Art Beatus Gallery, and in leading the Annie Wong Art Foundation which promotes Chinese contemporary art in the world. Her exhibit displays her devotion to her work and her dedication to the promotion of intercultural dialogue between East and West.
