Part of the commemoration of the Bicentenary of the abolition of the slave trade by the Parliament of the United Kingdom (1807) and of the International Day for the Remembrance of the Slave Trade and its Abolition (August 23), the exhibition consists of 36 panels given to UNESCO by Liverpool’s International Slavery Museum. They depict the slave trade, which along the triangular route Africa-America-Europe changed the history of all three continents. The show highlights the tragedy of the slave trade to promote greater understanding of its underlying causes.
The exhibition is open to the public from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. (Salle des Pas Perdus).
