Acceptance by Indonesia of the Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage (Paris, 17 October 2003)

On 15 October 2007, Indonesia deposited with the Director-General its instrument of acceptance of the Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage.

The instrument was accompanied by an Annex containing the following declaration:

“The Government of the Republic of Indonesia, by virtue of Article 26 paragraph (2) of this present Convention, declares that it shall not be bound by the provision of Article 26 paragraph (1)” [Original: English]

In accordance with the terms of its Article 34, the aforementioned Convention will enter into force with respect to Indonesia three months after the date of the deposit of its instrument, that is to say on 15 January 2008.
