Ministerial Round Table: Science and Technology for Sustainable Development and the Role of UNESCO

The Round Table is organized in response to:

- the recommendations made by the Ministers of Science and Technology of the G-77 countries and China at their last meeting in Brazil (Rio de Janeiro, from 2 to 5 September 2006),

- as well as by the Ministers of Science and Technology of South-East European countries (Ljubljana, Slovenia, on 28 and 29 September 2006), who called upon UNESCO to organize global conferences for Ministers of Science and Technology on a regular basis.
