• EDUCAIDS country implementation – Headquarters - Programme specialist (P-4 ALD), based in Paris, France.


• Regional HIV and AIDS Adviser – East and Southern Africa – Senior Programme Specialist (P-5 ALD), based in Johannesburg, South Africa.


• Regional HIV and AIDS Adviser – Asia and Pacific – Programme Specialist (P-4 ALD), based in Bangkok, Thailand.


• Regional HIV and AIDS Adviser – Latin America and Caribbean – Programme Specialist (P-4 ALD), based in Santiago, Chile.


• Regional HIV and AIDS Adviser – Eastern Europe and Central Asia – Programme Specialist (P-4 ALD), based in Moscow, Russia.

APPLICATION DEADLINE: 24 September 2007.

DURATION: In accordance with the legal framework of an ALD contract, the duration can go up to a maximum period of four years, renewable annually by mutual consent within this time period, and subject to an initial period of probation of three months (included in the four year maximum).

JOB DESCRIPTION: The positions will ensure ongoing programmatic and technical development, focusing on UNESCO's role as technical leader on education and HIV & AIDS.

Each of the posts is an Appointment of Limited Duration (ALD) with UNESCO. Salaries are in accordance with UNESCO scales and include a post adjustment. Individuals engaged under the ALD scheme are governed by provisions of the UNESCO Staff Regulations and General Conditions applicable to Appointments of Limited Duration ("General Conditions") as established by the Director-General. The ALD provides adequate social security coverage and medical care.
