Ratification by Chile of the Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions (Paris, 20 October 2005)

On 13 March 2007, Chile deposited with the Director-General its instrument of ratification of the Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions.

The instrument of ratification contained the following declaration:

"La República de Chile formula reserva a lo previsto en el N° 3 del Artículo 25, sobre Solución de Controversias y al Anexo a la Convención, por lo cual declara no reconocer el Procedimiento de Conciliación allí establecido, el que considera inaplicable a su respecto, de acuerdo a lo señalado en el N° 4 del Artículo 25" [original spanish]

In accordance with the terms of its Article 29, the aforementioned Convention will enter into force with respect to Chile three months after the date of the deposit of its instrument, that is to say on 13 June 2007.
