Comprehensive education sector responses

A comprehensive education sector response is at the heart of EDUCAIDS. This means a move away from programming on HIV and AIDS on a project-by-project basis, and towards a holistic, sector-wide view of the impacts and challenges of HIV.

Comprehensive education sector responses comprise five essential components:

• quality education;



• content, curriculum and learning materials;



• educator training and support;



• policy, management and systems; and



• approaches and illustrative entry points.

All five of these components need to be in place and working well to ensure optimal success in the response to the epidemic.
