Accession by Mauritius to the Convention for the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflict (The Hague, 14 May 1954)

On 22 September 2006, Mauritius deposited with the Director-General its instrument of accession to the Convention for the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflict.

In accordance with the terms of its Article 33 (2), the Convention will enter into force with respect to Mauritius three months after the deposit of this instrument of accession, that is to say on 22 December 2006.The instrument contained the following declaration :

“ AND DECLARES, pursuant to Article 35 of the aforesaid Convention, that the said Convention extends to the Island of Mauritius, Rodrigues, Agalega, Tromelin, Cargados Carajos and the Chagos Archipelago including Diego Garcia, and any other island comprised in the State of Mauritius.” [original: English]
