Relations between the European Commission and UNESCO have developed over time into a rich and diverse network of cooperation and interaction.
Since 1996, the European Commission and UNESCO have been committed to working closely across a wide range of areas.
This collaboration has developed in accordance with two different approaches: joint reflection and advocacy requested by the Commission to assist in development of the Commission’s sectoral and national strategies; and operational implementation of concrete programs and projects financed by the European Commission.
