Ratification by Argentina of the Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage (Paris, 17 October 2003)
On 9 August 2006, Argentina deposited with the Director-General its instrument of ratification of the Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage. |
The instrument contains the following declaration and reservation :
“DECLARACION:
La REPUBLICA ARGENTINA de conformidad con lo establecido por el Artículo 26, párrafo 2 de la Convención, no se considera obligada por las disposiciones del párrafo 1 de ese Artículo.
RESERVA:
La REPUBLICA ARGENTINA considera que el Artículo 33, párrafo 2 y el correlativo Artículo 2, párrafo 5 de la Convención, no son de aplicación respecto de los territorios sujetos a una controversia de soberanía entre dos Estados Partes de la Convención que sea reconocida por la Asamblea General de la Organización de las Naciones Unidas.” [Original: Spanish]
In accordance with the terms of its Article 34, the aforementioned Convention will enter into force with respect to Argentina three months after the date of the deposit of its instrument, that is to say on 9 November 2006.
