Final Report of the Director-General’s Consultation of National Commissions for UNESCO of the Europe and North America Region on the Preparation of the Draft Medium-Term Strategy for 2008-2013 (34C/4) and the Draft Programme and Budget For 2008-2009 (34 C/ Held in Athens, Greece between 25 and 28 June 2006 Representatives of 48 of the 49 National Commissions of the Europe and North America Region attended the consultation. The Chairman of the Executive Board attended as an observer, as did the Secretary-General of a National Commission from another region, the Director-General’s consultant, a member of the Review Committee for Major Programmes II and III, an NGO, and representatives of several Greek Ministries. Officials from various offices and services of the UNESCO Secretariat as well as the Directors and Representatives of the UNESCO offices in the region (Moscow, Bucharest, New York, Venice and Geneva) also participated in the meeting.
