29-11-2005 2:00 pm An exhibition of 60 cartoons by the renowned French artist Plantu will be held at UNESCO Headquarters (Salle Miro) from 7 to 10 December ahead of Human Rights Day (10 December).
The exhibition is held as part of the 60th anniversary celebration of UNESCO, which has been promoting universal human rights and fundamental freedoms since its creation, in keeping with its Constitution. The Assistant Director-General of UNESCO for Social and Human Sciences, Pierre Sané will open the exhibition, in the presence of the artist on 6 December at 6 p.m.

In his work, notably for French newspaper Le Monde, Plantu has been a champion of human rights and over the years he has offered his services to UNESCO on several occasions, illustrating several of its publications, including Human Rights: Questions and Answers, translated in 31 languages.
