Born in Siena, Italy, in 1973. MA in Communication Sciences. Winner of UN-DESA Fellowship Programme in 2001. Previous work experiences on international cooperation with European Commission (2000), Italian Embassy in Sarajevo, BiH (2001-2003), World Bank (2004), International Management Group (2005). Joined UNESCO Venice Office in 2005, where he works at the definition and implementation of activities for the enhancement of South-Eastern European cultural heritage.

Lawyer (Court of Appeal, Paris). DEA European Law-Tourism (Sorbonne). Elected Member Collective Consultation UNESCO youth NGOs. Contributed to Youth International Year, World Congress on Youth (1985). UNESCO Consultant (1990) to develop with WHO, new programme on Youth, human rights and AIDS. Created joint UNAIDS Programme (1993); AIDS focal point. Developed intersectoral programme on AIDS; represented UNESCO within UNAIDS programme. Joined Culture Sector normative activities for cultural heritage (2001).

Ministerial conferences 22-07-2008
Acknowledging the vital importance of the shared cultural heritage is a necessary step in order to further both mutual understanding among South-East European peoples, and the sustainable socio-economic development of the communities and countries of the region. However, the richness and originality of South-East European cultural heritage is still facing various obstacles which threaten its conservation and hinder its proper valorisation.
