UNESCO General Conference - 33rd Session

 4th UNESCO Youth Forum
Young people and the Dialogue among Civilizations, Cultures and Peoples – ideas for action in education, the sciences, culture and communication
Held for the first time at the 30th General Conference (1999), the organisation of a Youth Forum has enabled young delegates from different cultural backgrounds to exchange views, share experience, reflect together and, above all, detect common preoccupations and problems. The 2003 General Conference voted to make the Youth Forum a permanent feature of the UNESCO General Conference.

From 30th September to 2nd October 2005, the Youth Forum of the 33rd UNESCO General Conference will be held in UNESCO Headquarters in Paris. This 4th edition of the UNESCO Youth Forum, now an integral part of the General Conference - the highest decision-making body of the Organization - will be highly visible and is a unique opportunity for young people to express and exchange their ideas, make their voice heard and ensure their views are integrated in UNESCO’s programmes and policies.

This year's theme will be ' Young People and the Dialogue among Civilisations, Cultures and Peoples - Ideas for action in education, the sciences, culture and communication'.

As at previous editions of the Forum, this theme will be debated in plenary sessions and working groups and result in a final report with young people's
recommendations and proposals for concrete action, which will be presented to the opening session of the 33rd General Conference.
