| Milú Villela visits UNESCO Headquarters |
15-07-2005 4:00 pm On 15 July, Mrs Milú Villela, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador for Voluntary Action and Basic Education in Latin America, visited UNESCO Headquarters. During her visit Mrs Villela met with the Director-General of UNESCO, Mr Koďchiro Matsuura, and Deputy Director-General Mr Marcio Barbosa, to discuss Mrs Villela’s mission for the Organization’s education programmes.
Mrs Villela pledged herself to promote voluntary action and basic education in Portuguese speaking countries.
Milú Villela is president of Faça Parte (Be Part of It), a non-governmental organization encouraging volunteer work, especially among young people, for the benefit of schools throughout the country.
