Nurturing the democratic debate.
The purpose of this international forum, which UNESCO is organising through its MOST (Management of Social Transformations) programme with the governments of Argentina and Uruguay, is to narrow the gap between social science research and policies.
It intends to open up a space where all the publics concerned – policy-makers, scientists and representatives of civil society – can meet each other and dialogue. The Forum will take place in Buenos Aires with branches in Rosario, Córdoba (Argentina) and Montevideo (Uruguay). It will focus on five key themes where social science expertise is essential for effective policy intervention:

1) Global issues and Dynamics
2) Social Policies
3) Decentralization and Urban Policies
4) Regional Integration
5) Population and Migration
