Nurturing the democratic debate.  
In anticipation of the 28th session of the World Heritage Committee (Suzhou, June 28-July 7, 2004), the Chinese National Commission for UNESCO and UNESCO's Beijing office are jointly holding a journalists' workshop on the convention for the protection of the world's cultural and natural heritage at Mount Emei, a World Heritage Site in Sichuan province.
The purpose of the workshop is to provide journalists with a working knowledge of the World Heritage Convention and its mechanisms.
