Home > Coastal Regions and Small Islands (CSI) - Updated: 08-01-2003 2:47 pm
CSI serves as a platform for environmentally sound, socially equitable, culturally respectful and economically viable development in coastal regions and small islands.

Via the CSI platform, wise coastal practices for sustainable human development are exchanged, the voices of small islands amplified, and related indigenous knowledge revitalized.

Activities within CSI include field projects for preventing and resolving conflicts over coastal resources and values. CSI operates a multilingual web-based discussion forum on wise practices in coastal resource use, and acts as a focus for contributions to the Barbados Programme of Action for the Sustainable Development of Small Island Developing States.
