Technical and vocational education provides vital skills for national reconstruction, and assists the insertion of youth, women, ex-combatants and others into the labour force. It can also equip these individuals with the knowledge, skills and attitudest    

OBJECTIVES

1. To refurbish Kabul Polytechnic and selected MoE vocational training centres with basic infrastructure to commence small-scale programmes that will assist youth, women, ex-combatants and others to re-enter the labour force;
2. To providetechnical assistance to Kabul University to ensure those faculties previously supportive of TVE (Engineering, Agriculture etc) will prepare TVE teachers to staff technical training schools;
3. To provide the Director, Department of Technical and Vocational Education, with a refurbished office within the MoE building along with office infrastructure and resources to establish a co-ordinating centre for TVE;
4. To increase the capability of the Department of TVE to oversee the establishment of a plan forthe redevelopment of a TVE system including NGOs and public providers initially in Kabul and then extending into key provincial cities;
5. To provide some capacity-building for the designated Directors of key TVE Institutions
